Apply for GSF 2023

The Lab’s 2023 Global Sustainability Fellows program represents a unique opportunity for transformative professional and personal growth, with a dynamic curriculum focused on sustainability, system thinking, and community development.

The program accommodates 20 fellows representing multiple disciplines and countries of origin.

COMMITMENT & PROGRAM COST

All 2023 Fellows are required to participate in the full six weeks of the program, which is designed to unfold in two steps:

Orientation Period (June 5 to June 23, 2023)

A three-week virtual orientation period that requires a commitment of approximately eight hours per week, including a weekly three-hour live session plus readings and self-managed assignments.

La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain (July 9 to July 30, 2023)

  • Three weeks on-site, where Fellows will have an opportunity to combine theoretical work, local exploration, and hands-on practical experience culminating in a unique opportunity to work with local stakeholders in the creation of an actionable sustainable development plan for the island.

After completion of the full summer session, Fellows will receive an official Fellowship certificate from The Lab. Opportunities may be available to obtain academic credits.

Room, board, and program costs are covered entirely by the GSF. Fellows are expected to cover transportation to and from the program location as well as incidental costs. In exceptional cases, a need-based travel stipend may be considered.

A non-refundable commitment fee of $250 USD will be required upon acceptance.
